My first experience in my mother's house was quite unusual. I don't really remember how old I was, but I was very young. My mother and I used take a nap daily somewhere around noon. We were in bed and she'd already fallen asleep. I always would just lay there for awhile before falling asleep. It was very quiet and all of a sudden I heard an odd sound, like an animal walking with long toe nails, scrapping the floor as it walked. I sat up and saw three horns, they were about a foot long. All I could see were these three horns pacing back and forth from one end of the bed to the other. It was either crouched down or wasn't tall enough to be seen above the edge of the bed. I was very frightened, so I started crying and poking my mother to wake her up. When she turned to me and I told her what I'd seen, she looked over the bed, but what ever it was had already gone away.

My next incident came when I was around 12. My sister Toni had gone off with her friends, so my cousin Michelle and I decided to go into her room and rummage through her things. We were at the closet, going through her albums. Michelle grabbed my arm and when I turned to look at her, she was pointing towards the dresser. I looked at the dresser and saw a small paperweight just levitating a few inches above the dresser. We just stood there in amazement. After a few seconds, it raised up about a half a foot and shot across the room. We ran out of that room as fast as our legs could carry us. Later that day, I went back to see where the globe was and found it lodged between the head board and mattress.

After my sister Toni moved out of the house and on her own, I ended up having the room to myself. It was ok for awhile, but then I found myself scared and staying up all night. I would be up reading and nearly every night I would hear footsteps walking back and forth in the hallway outside my bedroom door. It sounded like someone dragging their feet with a pair of slippers on. It would just walk from my bedroom door (which was at the end of the hall) and then back to the kitchen again. It would do this all night long. Sometimes I would be brave enough to take a peek out my door when it was walking away from my door towards the kitchen, but I would never see or hear anything then. As soon as my door closed, within minutes, it would start back up.

One night while up reading a magazine...I heard someone going through my mother's closet. Her room was right across from mine and our closets were separated by just a thin dividing wall. I just sat there listening to what sounded like someone moving the clothes around on the bar. At first I thought it was my mother. So, I got up to see why she was up...but when I opened her bedroom door, she was in bed asleep. The next day she asked me what I'd been doing in her closet so late at night (she'd also heard what I'd heard). I replied "It wasn't me, in fact I got up and looked, because I thought it was you".

I started dating Johnny (now my husband). I told him that I thought my mother's house was haunted. He thought it was funny...thought I had a wild imagination. So I dared him to spend the night just one night in the living room. Because he was a skeptic to ghost and the supernatural, he took me up on the bet. He said he was in the living room on the recliner. He said the first few hours he didn't hear or see anything. Just as he was about to fall asleep, he started hearing footsteps. He just sat there a few minutes listening, thinking it was me, trying to scare him. At one point he said it sounded like the footsteps walked right up to him. He just sat there waiting for me to jump out and scare him....but after awhile when nothing happened, he leaned around the chair to see if I was behind it. When he didn't see me, he decided to get up and check to see where I was at. He ended up finding me in my bedroom asleep. He went back to the living room and said it he never did fall asleep...and it was the longest night he'd ever spent away from home.

One night after getting home late from a date with Johnny, I went right to my bedroom, got into my night gown and got into bed. My cousin Angie was down visiting from Arkansas at the time and we had to share my bed. Not long after I'd crawled into bed, I closed my eyes to go to sleep when I felt like Angie being shoved against me. Then I heard someone whispering her name saying "Angie, Angie...." I just laid there not knowing what to think. Then it got worse, it felt like someone shaking her real hard to wake her up and saying "Angie get up, get up" she only moaned in a drowsy voice "What...". At this point I thought someone was in the house, so I started screaming for my mother. Right at that moment, I heard someone walking real fast to my closet and just stop there. When my mother came to the door I yelled "There's a man in my room and he's hiding in the closet!" My mother turned on the light and her and my sister Becky walked over to the closet and pulled the curtain back...nothing was there except my clothes.

One night I was in my room reading the bible. I was just starting to try to memorize the "Lord's Prayer". I started reading it out loud and all of a sudden I heard hissing...like an angry or scared cat would make, but not quite the same. The more I read, the more intense the hissing got. The louder I read, the louder the hissing got. After a while of this going back and forth....I have to tell you my heart felt like it was beating right out of my body, I was so scared....after a while...it just stopped abruptly. It never happened again after that.

When I was around 16 or 17 years old.....something happened to me that to this day I don't know how or why this happened. It was late one evening, and I don't recall who all was in the room at the time, but there were several of us watching television. Out of nowhere, I got this burning sensation on my back. I asked one of the people with me, to see what was wrong with my back. So they proceeded to lift up the back of my shirt to check. They told me they didn't know what it was, but it looked like someone had taken their fingernails and run them straight down my back. I went to the bathroom mirror to check and see what they were talking about. I saw several raised (welp like) lines running from in between my shoulder blades all the way down, just above my waist line.

One afternoon while home alone...I was at the stove heating up some soup for lunch, when I suddenly got this strange feeling like someone was there with me. I turned around, but didn't see anything, I brushed it off as the "being alone creeps"....well suddenly this black haze came around me from both sides as though to put it's arms around me or grab a hold of me...I jumped right out of my shoes and screamed out loud. At that moment the haze went away. I turned off the stove and ran to the front door and yelled out "Don't you ever touch me again...in the name of God...don't ever touch me again!" I left for hours until I called to verify someone was home. It never did try to touch me or communicate with me after that...in fact....all was quite for some years until I got married and moved out of the house...I think that something in that house might of followed me to my new house.

The day after Christmas, I decided to go by my mother's house to eat left-overs. All that was there, were my mother, myself, my husband Johnny, my two kids and my sister Judy. My mother had been sitting at the table finishing up her meal and I was at the sink, finishing up the dishes. Judy had just gotten up from her seat at the table and went to grab something cold to drink from the frig. All of a sudden, my mother's dog Lucy began go growl and carry on. We all just stood there for a few moments, watching. Lucy kept looking upwards as if she saw something. As she kept looking up and growling, the growling turned into barking. After a few minutes of her doing this.....I decided to call out in a firm voice "Be gone from this house!" At that very moment, Lucy acted as if what ever she was growling and barking at, suddenly moved away from her, because she jumped over as if to bite or lunge out at something in movement. She continued to follow what ever it was with her head, watching it leave the room. As quickly as the incident began, it stopped. Lucy calmly walked over to my mother and laid down at her feet under the table.

It was early in the morning and when I arrived my mother's house she was still sleeping. My youngest son went immediately to the couch and fell asleep. It was a little warm in the house, so I decided to go turn the air conditioning up.  It was dark in the hall because the doors were closed and the light was not working....so I took a flash light with me and adjusted the thermostat. I then called my oldest son Corey into the kitchen to begin our home schooling session.  I gave him instructions on the math I wanted him to complete while I went on the porch for a minute.  About five or ten minutes passed and Corey came out on the porch where I was at.  I made a remark to Corey that I was sure there was no way he could of completed the math assignment I gave him, and he replied he hadn't. So I inquired why he would be outside if he wasn't finished....and he asked me to come back in the house with him because he was scared. I asked him what was wrong and he replied that the doors in the hall were slamming. I asked him to stay on the porch, while I went back inside to see what was going on.  As soon as I walked up the hall entry, I noticed one of the bedroom doors open, yet earlier it was completely closed. I found this odd, but it was a definite confirmation that Corey did hear something going on with the doors.  Two weeks later, oddly my mother and Judy had a similar experience, just at a different time of day.

Same thing, just another day.  I was in the kitchen, my husband John was in the dining room eating.  Out of no where, I heard the back bedroom door slam very hard.  Being the kitchen is right where the hall is to this area, I leaned over, looking towards the hall and remarked how I couldn't believe I heard the door slam.  My husband must of also heard it too, because he remarked that it was probably from someone leaving a window open in that room....but he knew that couldnt' be the answer, because my mother keeps her air conditioning on and the windows are were not open.  Anyway, a few seconds went by, not even enough to finish discussing how strange this was, when John had entered the kitchen area where I was at and it happened again.  I looked at him and made the mark "open window, huh? Then I dare you to go in that room and look".  He just leaned around the hall wall, looking towards that area and passed on the dare.  No sooner did he turn away, it happened a third time, but this time I was overwhelmed with a feeling of dread and fright....as if I could actually feel something around, in the hall.....and it wasn't good.  At this point, I dropped to my knees and began praying in the name of God that what ever it was, leave.  It didn't do anything afterwards until my sister Toni and her husband John came by.  I told Toni what had happened earlier with the door slamming, out on the front porch, but when we came in, her and her husband were in the kitchen area discussing this, Toni decided to try and talk to this thing.  She walked close to the hall area, but not too close and asked who it was.  I quickly stopped her and insisted that she not begin trying to communicate with this thing....because it might make things worse.  All of a sudden I felt as if what ever was there, was back and hovering around the hall area, outside the bedroom door....watching Toni.  She then proceeded to ask it if it knew who she was....I told her, to stop...knowing very well that this thing was standing in the hall looking right at her.  Her husband mentioned something about slamming the door again if it knew who she was, but it never did anything.  Toni said as she stood there, waiting for a reply from what ever this was, she was covered in goosebumps.  I know it might not have wanted to answer her questions, maybe even not know how to go about this communication process, but I'm sure this is not the last we've heard from this thing....I get the eerie feeling it will be back and next time prepared for the interogation.

My mother, myself and my two children were in the living room watching television.  I noticed my mother's dog Lucy, seemed to act as if she saw something and she headed outside onto the porch.  Immediately after she went out the door, the front door, just slowly closed behind her.  It was as if some invisible force were there and closed the door as she exited the room. I didn't even have enough time to comprehend what I'd just seen when all of a sudden I heard what sounded like the door knob being twisted, trying to open....I looked over at Corey, because he seemed to have jumped out of the rocking chair and headed my way, because he too had heard this sound.  But when we both looked at the door, the knob wasn't actually turning, only making the sound that it would make if it were, then all a sudden the door flew open so hard that it sent the paint can that my mother had on the floor, she used as a door stop, flying across the room.  My son Justin jumped up and ran to the door to see what happened, but I yelled out for him to get back, because at this point, I really didn't know if there was someone outside the door or not, evening knowing that it would not explain how the door closed behind Ludy to begin with.  I got up and slowly walked outside and checked to see if anyone were there....but no one.

I was at the stove cooking and Corey was at the kitchen table.  He called for my attention to come feel the table.  But when I got there, I didn't notice anything odd.  He said he had just felt the table shaking.  A while later, maybe about an hour later, the kids were outside on the porch and I sat at the table.  I was leaned up against the table and then I felt it....the table began to vibrate just lightly.  I got up and went and sat on the couch and then it began there too.....the couch was actually vibrating.  I called Corey in and he touched the arm of the couch, but by then it had stopped.  It never did do it again after that.

We have also just been sitting around the house or while cleaning, for no apparent reason, the lights will begin flickering off and on. This has happened several times.

It was Monday and it's one of the usual days I spend with my mother and cook dinner.  My mother and the kids were in the living room eating dinner, watching a kid's show and John and I were at the kitchen table eating.  All of a sudden I smelled a very light fragrance.  I sniffed a bit, to smell this aroma and then smelled my arms and shirt to see if it were coming from me....but it was an entirely different smell.  Then I smelled it again maybe a minute later.....I sniffed around again, nothing.....leaned over to John, smelled him, not there.  Now, I had been at this house all day long, sitting in that same spot off and on all day, smoking and hadn't smelled that fragrance before.  It wasn't a flower type smell, this was some sort of sweet type perfume.  I figured it must be the same fragrance that Judy and Becky had smelled.  They said that when they smelled it, it was very strong....now unless there's something wrong with my nose, it wasn't that way when I smelled this perfume.  It was almost like someone had come into the room and the perfume lingered around....it wasn't real strong....just faint.  It came and went and then just disappeared all together.

I was sitting at the kitchen table reading a medical website on my laptop.  I decided to get up to get a fresh can of diet soda.  I walked into the main part of the kitchen, grabbed the drink from the frig, turned off that light and just for a split second I thought to myself how eerie it was with the lights out and how nothing had happened at my mother's in a while.  I walked back to the table, went back to my reading.  I picked up my can of soda, popped the top and just as I was bringing it upwards to drink, all of a sudden out of no where, something screamed in my right ear.  I tell you, I literally felt my entire body just completely jump off the chair.  I sat there, paralyzed, too afraid to get up, too afraid to do anything except just sit there, shaking.  I didn't even put the soda down, it was still in my hand, still where it was, when I was startled.  I remember, looking around with my eyes in the direction of the living room and seeing my son and niece in there talking or something (I couldn't hear them) and then moving my eyes towards the rocking chair where my other son was sitting, watching t.v.   I don't know how long I sat there like that, frozen, but it was a while and I must of hit my elbow when I jumped up because the corner of my elbow was sore.  So, when I finally got myself together, I unhooked my laptop, put everything in the carrying case and told the kids to get their things together.  I wasn't going to stay there any longer than I had to.

I was sitting at the kitchen table alone, everyone else was in the living room watching t.v.  All of a sudden I got this strange feeling that someone was standing behind me.  When I turned around slightly to look, I just got a glimpse of a person and they seemed to avoid me seeing them, because I just saw this "person" as they darted towards the stove area.  I whipped around in the opposite direction, thinking my eyes were playing tricks on me and it was Johnny, but when I looked no one was there.  I looked into the living room and  accounted for everyone.   I don't know what I saw, but it was definitely a person and to be perfectly honest, I got this weird feeling that what I saw was my father.  It wasn't anything I saw that gave me that impression, it was just a gut feeling....like my eyes didn't comprehend what I saw, but my mind recognized it and processed it as being him.....I don't know why.  At least if I'm right and it were him, then it was obviously something good and definitely nothing to worry or be frightened about.

I was sitting in the kitchen, smoking a cigarette.  John and my mother were in the living room watching t.v.  My kids and Toni's kids were outside on the front porch playing.  While I was sitting there, with my feet up on a chair and my back to the wall, I saw, what I thought at the time, was one of the kids come into the kitchen (Thinking they came in from the back door), I didn't pay much mind to it.  All I could see was a white color, in my peripherial vision.  It was there for a while. What made me suspicious was when I began noticing this white color, begin to disappear or fade away.  I turned real quick to look and nothing was there. I got up from the chair, went to the front porch (fingers crossed it was one of the kids there....which I knew there was no way it was), checked on the kids...all were there, sitting on the swing and chairs playing. And...not a one of them, had white on. What ever it was, probably was harmless.... because I didn't get any bad feelings or anything.  But I did definately see something standing near the counter area.  My mother's lady in white??? Who knows.

While I was sitting at the kitchen table, smoking a cigerette I got the weirdest feeling that I was being watched.I just casually glanced around the room, thinking to myself that I don't like getting that feeling especially in this house.  All of a sudden a small music box my mother has sitting on the table began to play. O.k, so perhaps it was wound up and for some unexplainable, bizarre reason, it just decided to wind down and play..yah, o.k, sure.  But this thing was playing as if someone had just wound it up to the maxit kept playing and playing.  No sooner did I stand up, because I'd heard enough and wasn't about to stick around for anything else to happen, it just stopped.  Later that same evening, my son Corey saw something around the same area. AndI hadn't told anyone about this music box playing.the kids were on the front porch playing when it happened.so when he had this visual encounter, it was enough proof for me to not dismiss what happened with the music box earlier as just a fluke thing that happened.  Anyway.Corey was standing near the front door, talking with his daddy.  I was at the kitchen sink, listening to the conversation.  John got up to go to the bathroom, Corey was still talking away.  Suddenly there was a noticeable change in Corey's tone in talking.almost as if he were interrupted by something.  John continued on to the bathroom, probably assuming Corey would just resume when he returned.  Well, I finished rinsing off the last couple of dishes, went to the kitchen table to sit down and have a cigerette. Corey was standing there, in a stunned state. I asked him what was wrong and he went on to describe to me, something he'd seen.  He said, after daddy got up from the chair and walked past the hallway towards the bathroom, just as he made that turn to go towards the bathroom areahe saw something standing behind his daddy.  It was odd shapped, but you could make out that this mist was in the shape of a person.  He doesn't know if it came out of the hall way or went into the hall way, because it moved real quick, just as his daddy turned and then it just disappeared.

I'm sitting at the kitchen table, working on my laptop.  Justin (my son) and Avalon (my niece) are on the sofa with my mother, Corey (my son) and Adam (my nephew) are on the front porch playing.  I decided to give the kids an ice cream....so I asked Avalon to go outside and ask Corey and Adam if they want one.  I stand up, turn around and here is this large, really dark shadow half way on the cabinet, half way on the refrigerator.  Thinking it's my own shadow, I see it, but don't think anything of it...until I see it move, while I'm still in a standing position.  It headed towards my mother's bedroom.  Ok....I'm thinking...it's got to be one of the kids in that part of the hall....going into the bathroom....but when Avalon comes in and tells me yes, they both want an ice-cream....obviously, it couldn't have been one of them.  I walk just up to the island....and now my shadow appears on the refrigerator...light gray and only from my shoulders up.  I walk closer to the refrigerator and my shadow moves in the direction I saw this other shadow go....only I had to be almost right up to the refrigerator to get the same affect in darkness and size as the shadow I saw.  I look towards the bathroom, just in case it was one of the kids....the doors open, light off...no kids in that area. Right then...I knew I saw something...abnormal.  Later that evening, I'm washing dishes from cooking dinner....Avalon walks up to me, says something to me and leaves....I hear her go out the front door.  Couldn't of been two minutes later, I hear what I thought was her, coming back....stomping her feet, behind me...and stop.  I turn, look down, wondering what she wants...no one there.  Weird thing is, when I turned around and didn't see Avalon there....I got this terrible, dread type feeling and it didn't just subside as it normally does when I have a bizarre encounter...this feeling lingered for quite a while. Enough so that I was scared enough to call one of my sisters and have her stay on the phone with me, until what ever was around, went away. I do believe that  what I was feeling, sensing or what ever it was....was because something bad approached me and hung around for a while.

I was sitting in the kitchen, trying to get my laptop straightened out....after having to reboot my entire system.  The kids (Corey, Justin, Avalon and Adam) were outside playing and decided to come inside. Mama was trying to take a nap...and the kids were a little on the rowdy side, so after contiously telling them to be quiet...Mama was trying to take a nap, I had to end up putting them all in time out.  I sat two of the kids on the sofa, two cushions apart and two kids on each of the chairs.  They were very, very quiet at first...knowing that if they said a solitary word, they'd end up having to clean the yard or something else as punishment.  After about a half an hour, I began hearing a child calling "Mama....Mama....Mama" over and over.  I had instructed the kids, that they were not allowed to talk, etc....and if they had to use the bathroom, they would need to raise their hand.  So, every time I heard the child calling "Mama" I would look towards the living room to see who had their hand up....but no one would...they were just sitting there as quiet as mice.  After the fifth time of the child calling....I stood up and said "Ok, enough is enough".  I could tell by the puzzled look on their faces that they had no earthly idea what I was talking about.  I asked "Ok, who's the wise guy that keeps calling me?"  They all looked at each other, as if to see who was the guilty party....but no one claimed to be calling me.  I insisted that one of them had been calling me over and over...but of coarse, Adam and Avalon exclaimed that if they were calling me they would of been saying "Aunt Kimberly" and not "Mama".  I looked at Corey and Justin as if that was it...that only left one of them. I guess it dawned on them...that none of them had been calling me....and I swear, I have never seen four kids tear through a living room to get to a kitchen as fast as I saw these kids run.  I couldn't of paid these kids to go back and sit in the living room....that's how scared they were.  I sent them outside to play and reminded them that if they misbehaved again, they'd be back in their old spots....ghost or no ghost.  Ironically, the very next day, my mother encountered a ghost of a child in the living room.

Judy and I were at Mama's house, sitting at the table talking.  When all of a sudden I got a whiff of a fragrance.  I was looking at Judy and her eyes got real big and she then jumped back in her chair and remarked:"Oh my God, I smell perfume" just then.....I stood up and Judy stood up and I held my arm out and remarked that I was covered in goosebumps.  She showed me her arms, and they too were covered in goosebumps. We sat back down and we kept smelling this fragrance off and on for quite a while.  Judy had decided she'd had enough, so she went outside to sit on the porch.  I stayed behind to see if I would smell it again and sure enough, not more than a few minutes after Judy went outside, I got a very strong whiff of it and yelled out to Judy "It's here again!".  Judy says it smelled exactly like the perfume my mother's neighbor Mrs. Kirk used to wear (Ben Hur).....I don't know, I don't remember what that perfume smelled like.  What I smelled, was definately some sort of fragrance, seems to me like it was some sort of musk with a very tiny, minute/faint amount of vanilla to it....but what I thought it really smelled like was some sort of scented pipe tabacco.  Judy knows that perfume, because when she was a kid, she used to wear it and smelled it on Mrs. Kirk all the time, so I trust Judy and she would definately know.

Judy, Johnny and myself were sitting in the kitchen eating dinner.  All I got a whiff of perfume.  I looked at John and Judy and asked "Do you smell that? It's perfume".  John said he didn't smell anything, but within a minute, Judy also began smelling it.  Pretty creepy.

I had been helping my mother out with the daily chores and went into her bedroom to put something away.  To relax for a moment, I plopped down on my  mother's bed.  Laying there with my arms spread out, I must of been laying there a good three or four minutes....not long enough to fall asleep, but enough to just wind down a little.  As I was laying there, I got this sudden feeling I needed to get up and get out of the room.  It was a rushing, urgent feeling of danger.  Because the feeling was a bad type of feeling, I sat up and just as I swung around to get up....I saw something very quickly rush by the bathroom door area.  It was just a quick glimpse of something white. It wasn't a shadow or a person or anything like that...it was just white, that's all I remember. Kind of like a flash light being shinned on that area real quick or something.  I left that room as fast as my legs would carry me.  That was Monday.  On Friday of the same week, I returned for a visit with my mother and this time I brought my camera with me.  Later that evening I decided when it started getting dark, I would go around the house and snap a few pictures...especially in my mother's bedroom, because that's where I got that awful feeling.  I took pictures of the kids, I took pictures of my mother, I took pictures of just about every room in the house....except my mother's room.  I downloaded the pictures, looked for orbs or anything else...nothing. Not one single picture had anything in it.  Then I headed for the room, I got that creepy, terrible feeling in.  And I have to say, that I was probably feeling pretty gutsy by this time, because nothing had showed up in any of the other pictures I'd taken and I would of pretty much bet, I wasn't going to get anything in her room either.  Well, I was mistaken.  I went into her room, alone.  Turned off all the lights, made my way across the room to where her recliner is and began snapping a few pictures of the opposite side of the room.  Looked at the window on my camera after each picture, didn't see anything.  Worked my way back to where the bedroom door and bathroom are and began snapping pictures of my mother's old antique dresser...nothing.  Then it hit me again, that sudden rushing feeling of pure terror. I can't recall the last time I felt that much fear. It was so incredibly strong....almost paralyzing. Well...actually....I was so scared that I began screaming for my family to come get me...that's how scared I was.  I don't know what made me think to do it, but I turned my camera to my left and just snapped.  I stood there, in the pitch dark, what felt like forever before anyone came in the room to get me....and when that picture downloaded onto my camera's window, I was in pure shock.  What ever I felt in that room....what ever terrible, horrible thing it was...I got a picture of it.  I downloaded the picture on my computer and it was amazing....a white streak shooting across the room.  I thought was all of it....but again, I was mistaken.  I cropped the picture and downloaded it onto our website.  Come the following Monday I was back at my mother's but thought it would be best if I left the camera at home.  Later in the evening, I was working on my computer when I got this nagging feeling to take a look at the picture again....I missed something.  At the time, John was on the phone and I made a remark to him I was going to take another look at the picture...a better look....because I think something else is there that we missed before.  Sure enough, I enlarged the picture, so I could scroll through it top to bottom and immediately I spotted it. Two faces of two men at the curtain.  Oddly, they weren't in proportion to the everything else in the room. At first I thought it had to be the pattern from the curtain in the photo giving off the illusion of two faces, but after studying the rest of the picture, there was no denying it...there were faces there.

Justin and I were sitting at the table, eating. John was in the living room with my mother and Corey, eating.  Now because what I saw was so strange, the only way I can describe it is to compare it to something. Imagine a ball of cotton candy or a cotton ball and taking this perfectly formed ball...and pulling it just slightly at the bottom...so it has a slightly frayed tail. Now.....I was sitting there eating and I just so happened to look up, into the living room, to watch t.v. when I saw this thing about five or six feet in front of me. It just hovered there for a few seconds and it took me about that long to comprehend what I was looking at. It was gray and I can't recall whether it were transparent or not...but it was definitely a smoky gray looking color and it looked a lot like a ring of smoke, except the center was also there, not like an actual smoke ring, where the middle is missing. This was a complete mass.  On impulse I yelled out to everyone "look...look at this smoke!" Just as I said this, it just vanished all at once before my eyes. My son Justin wasn't looking that way, but when I called out, I could see out of the corner of my eye, him turn his head real quick to look.  He asked what it was...not seeing for himself, but I guess because of what I yelled.  I told him it was a small cloud of smoke, just sitting there, in the air in front of me, then it just disappeared.  No one was smoking...we were all eating....so I don't know what the heck I saw. I almost want to say that it may have been an orb or something....but it's ironic, because I just responded to an email where I was telling someone that I've heard that people can't see orbs with the naked eye....but have come across a few rare cases where people have. I had one encounter a year or so ago, where I saw something zoom by me and didn't know what it was and a paranormal investigator said it was probably an orb. So maybe people do see orbs...I'm not really sure. But I will say this....what I saw, looked a lot and I mean a whole lot, like orbs I've video taped flying up and down our hallway....especially the one that got really close to me and I was able to watch it with my camcorder come right up to my foot.  I don't know what I saw, but it sure was strange.

After arriving with the kids for a visit, I was sitting at the table reading a magazine.  Juanita had left for work about an hour before then.  I fixed the kids lunch and went back to reading my magazine. After lunch, Corey asked for the keys to my truck so he could get something out that he'd forgotten.  For the next hour or so, we turned that house upside down looking all over for my car keys. I was so frantic, I couldn't believe it. All I could think of was that I probably left them on the bumper, unloading stuff from my truck when I first arrived and that someone saw them, took them and would return later to drive off with my truck. We searched areas of the house, that none of us had even been at that day...under beds, under sofa cushions...every where from grocery bags on a shelf to the trash can. The keys were no where. It dawned on me, Juanita left shortly after I arrived and perhaps my keys got hooked on a bag she took with her or perhaps she'd picked up my keys and stuck them in her purse, not realizing they were mine.  I called her at work, she searched through her things, they weren't there. I didn't know what to do. We'd searched everywhere, even looked all through the grass in the yard....not a place went unsearched.  I was sitting at the table trying to figure out what to do, because the keys had to be somewhere and Justin came over to me and suggested that maybe Grandma's ghost took them....like they take things at our house, he says.  Well, that hadn't dawned on me, but it made a lot of sense. So in a very firm and demanding....well almost hysterical scream I yelled "You darn ghost better give me back my keys, right now!" Under normal conditions, I know not to be too demanding and angry when requesting something....because it could mean trouble. I should of asked more politely...more calmly...but I was very upset about my keys missing at this point.  My mother responds to my yelling "Kimber, you need to calm down, the keys will turn up".  Well...I plopped down on the chair, lit up a cigarette and pretty much said again, to myself "they better give me back my keys, I can't believe this". Well...I got up right afterwards, went to the frig to get a soda...which I had not been to since I'd been there...I brought lunch with me and prepared it without using anything from the frig...and there my keys sat. Ice cold...not like anything else in the frig, just cold...these things were as cold as ice, as if they'd come straight from a deep freezer. I was shocked! But at least I got my keys back!

I was sitting at the kitchen table with the kids, staring across the kitchen counter into the dining room. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw a man walk in the front door.  My first impression was that it was my Uncle Raymond, I turned to greet him, only there wasn't anyone there!  Oddly....exactly four days later, I was in the kitchen, same time, same spot, only standing this time....and I saw the exact same thing....a man walk in through the front door. I turned to look, expecting this person to disappear like before, only this time, it really was Uncle Raymond.

Mama and I were in the living room, watching t.v., the kids were in the dining room playing a game. I heard the sound of the gate in the front yard open and close....then I heard what sounded like someone walking on the front porch, dragging their feet...then it just stopped as it got up to the front door. It wasn't a hurried type walk...it was more like someone taking their time.  I sat there, in the rocker, right near the door...waiting for who ever it was to come in...but no one came in.  I waited and waited for someone to walk in....but no one ever did.  So, I leaned over, looked out the door...no one standing there.  I figured maybe it was Toni and she was probably sitting on the swing or something, so I got up to take a look...no one.  I sat down on the swing, trying to make sense of what I'd just heard when Justin came out, asking who was here....he heard the gate.  While I was telling him, no one was there, except us and Grandma...Corey came out and asked the same thing, claiming he'd also heard the gate open and close.

I was helping Mama out, doing a few household chores, before the holiday.  I asked Corey, Justin and Adam to go with me, into my mother's room....because that room always, always gives me the creeps.  I was in there, sweeping and mopping.  I got the eeriest feeling that I was being watched...and honestly, I felt this horrible scared feeling that I should leave the room...that I wasn't wanted in there.  I looked over at the kids and everyone abandoned me, except Adam. I told Adam "Adam, please, don't leave me in here alone" he responded that he wasn't going anywhere, that he'd stay with me. I finished up in her room and proceeded to the kitchen.  There were a couple of garbage bags that needed to be taken out, so I asked Corey to help me take the garbage to the garbage cans outside.  As we walked through the living room, dragging the bags....I felt this very intense feeling that we were being followed. I looked back, expecting to see Justin or Adam following along, but no one was there. Just as we got up the fence gate, I said to Corey "I feel like something's following us....it's creepy as heck".  We got to the garbage cans and I just felt this overwhelming feeling of being rushed up on.  I told Corey as I hurried back to the house "God, hurry up....something's following us".  We got into the house, Corey slammed the door shut behind us.  I sat down in the kitchen and Corey proceeded to the dining room, where Adam and Justin were playing a video game.  Next thing I knew, my mother was telling Corey that he needed to let the little girl in.  She then said it wasn't very nice of us, to lock that little girl out.  I got up from the kitchen table, went into the living room, where my mother was sitting and asked her to repeat herself.  She went to tell me, that we ought to let the little girl in that we locked out.  I asked her "Mama, what little girl?" She then went on to tell me that while Corey and I were dragging out the bags, a little girl was following us out.  I was stunned. I couldn't believe it....I knew I felt as if something were following me!  I then told her that I had no intentions on letting the little girl in...and when she asked why, I simply told her "Because she's not a little girl, Mama....she's a ghost".  My mother didn't say anything back.  Later, about an hour or so.....the kids were outside playing in the front yard.  My mother called out to the kids "There's that little girl again".  I went to see if I could see the little girl she was talking about, but I didn't see her.  I asked Mama what the little girl was doing now, while looking outside. And she remarked "She's not doing anything, she's just standing on the porch watching the three boys playing".  I about dropped dead.  I asked Mama who she thought the child was and my mother said she didn't know.....she said it's the little girl she sees around the house from time to time....she doesn't know where she came from.

I was at my mother's visiting and decided to cook dinner for everyone.  I had all four stove burners going and the oven pre-heating.  While the rice and succotash were cooking on the back burners, I had two frying pans going on the front burners with pork chops.  I set the kitchen timer on the microwave for 20 minutes, to let me know when the rice would be done.  I put my niece Avalon in charge of mixing corn bread.  When she was through, she poured it all into a baking pan and I put it in the oven.  I turned to look at the microwave to see how much time was left on the timer, so I could figure about how much time I would need to add for the cornbread when the timer went off...but the timer was now set at 37 minutes, 42 seconds.  I asked all the kids if anyone messed with the microwave because the timer was wrong.  No one said anything, just looked at me baffled like they didn't understand what I was asking.  I reset the timer for 10 minutes, figuring that's would be about how much time was left for the rice.  I walked back to the stove, went to turn over the pork chops, but they weren't cooking...they were just sitting in the pan, doing nothing.  I looked at the dials on the stove and all four were turned off.  I couldn't believe it.  The oven dial was still on...but why all the burners were off, was beyond me....and how they got turned off, I have no clue. I figured it was pretty odd for that to happen, so I called my sister Judy on the phone.  I asked her if when she'd cooked at my mother's before, did she ever have any trouble with the stove dials turning to the off position by themselves, but she said she no.  I figured well then, I don't know what to make of this.  After I'd already turned all the burners back on and was cooking, while talking to her....the microwave timer beeped.  I looked over at the microwave....it still had a little over five minutes counting down on it...so I couldn't figure why it would beep when it weren't finished counting down yet.  Avalon and Corey were standing with me and they too heard the microwave...because I guess they didn't think I heard it beep, because they said to me it beeped.  I asked if she'd heard it beep over the phone and she said she did.  I remarked to her "wonder if something's trying to tell me the cornbread and rice are done?"  I took the cornbread out of the oven, took the rice off the stove and odd thing is...if I would of left these things to continue to cook, up until the timer really went off...they probably would of burned.  I was remarking to Judy how odd all this was, when the timer really went off....only it made a different sound than we'd heard before.  I made a pun to Judy how I thought something must of imitated the sound of the microwave, only they couldn't even get it right...when I walked over to the stove and found the burners turned off again!  I told her how fed up I was with Mama's ghost messing with the food....I would never get finished cooking.  Corey and Avalon were sticking pretty close to me and obviously got scared listening to my conversation with Judy about all of this going on.  Corey unplugged the microwave so we wouldn't have any more trouble...so he thought.  After I finished cooking and called out for everyone to come and eat....the microwave beeped again....only it wasn't plugged in!  I was glad everyone was standing around to witness it, that way no one would think I were crazy when I told them what was going on.  The lighter side to all of this is that at least the things that happened, other than something turning the stove burners off....was that it seemed to be helpful in a way.....opposite could of happened and everything could of burned and we would of been out picking up fast food!

I was sitting at the kitchen table, talking on the phone to Judy.  Mama was in the living room, watching Corey and Justin playing a their video game.  Out of no where, I heard heavy, heavy footsteps, running down the hall. Where I was sitting, is just on the other side of the hall wall...so I knew immediately where the sound was coming from.  I had my feet in a tippy-toe position on the floor and could literally feel the vibration of each step as it got closer. Weird thing is....the hall is short, maybe ten feet long, but the sound of someone running, sounded as if it were running a really long distance. It's hard to explain. Anyway, I interrupted Judy to tell her what I'd just heard...I called out to my mother and the kids to see if they'd heard it too, but they said they hadn't.  If I had just heard it, it would of been one thing...but I felt the wooden floor under my feet shaking and vibrating with each hard, pounding step.  Then within, I'd say a minute, I felt fluttering around my left heel....I called out to the kids to see what was around my feet, brushing up against me, but they said nothing was there....but of coarse by the time they'd bent down to look, it had stopped. But that's not all....later...I would say probably four or five hours later, I was sitting at the kitchen table, doing school with Justin.  John had just gotten off from work and was sitting at the table with Justin and I, listening to us conducting our lesson.  Well, at some point, my mother walked by, headed to the bathroom.  I didn't pay too much attention to it...and some time had passed....I thought John got up and went and sat in the living room....etc... Justin and I are sitting at the table, working on adjectives, when I heard my mother's bathroom door open.  It got my attention immediately, because when I heard that sound, it meant Mama must of still been in the bathroom and I couldn't imagine she would of been in there that long.  Worried, I got up and called out to her, because I didn't know if she'd fallen or anything...but when I called out to her "Mama, is everything o.k?"...she answered me from the living room....she wasn't even in the bathroom anymore! I hadn't noticed her come from the bathroom and go back in the living room to sit down.  So I thought, o.k...it wasn't her...it has to be John.  I looked around and accounted for everyone else....so I called out to John.....he answers from the porch....so who was in the bathroom!  I had Justin walk with me to take a look...but no one was in there and the door was slightly open.  Justin said he'd heard the door open too...and there's no mistaking that door when it opens. My mother has a shoe rack hanging from it and when you open that door, it always gets caught on the frame and literally makes the sound of the wood cracking, as if it's being ripped from the frame. Now...before even adding this to the website, this happened yesterday (10/29/2004), Toni came to my house to pick up her children Avalon and Adam, who came home with me last night to spend the night.  I was telling her the things that happened at Mama's yesterday.  She asked me if the well was still covered...because we've noticed, when we cover Mama's unused well opening with a cup or can, nothing happens in her house...but when that cover is taken off...something happens.  Anyway, I told Toni I didn't know if the well was covered or not, it had a cup over it the last time I checked....she asked if the cup were green and I told her yes and asked why.  She said she saw the green up in the plants (which are all growing around the well opening)...figuring one of the kids tossed it into the yard, she picked it up and threw it out.  So...that explains a lot....all this stuff happening, probably had to do with the well being open....I could be wrong, but it's an awful big coincidence every time we experience activity over there, is when the pipe is open.

This event acutally happened to Mama, Toni, Avalon, Adam, Johnny, Corey, Justin and myself on Friday, Sept 30th.  We were all sitting in the living room, watching television, except Toni....she was sitting in the kitchen, talking on the phone.  We were watching; of all things on tv, a show about haunted locations.  All of a sudden we heard this huge crash in the dining room.  We are all split on what we heard, some of us say it sounded like something big falling over, like furniture, Toni said it sounded like glass shattering to the floor.....like a picture falling and breaking, while the rest say it sounded like a metal rack crashing to the floor.  My mother immediately yells out "What the hell was that?" The kids and I jump up and run to the dining room to see what fell, but not one single thing was out of place. Corey said he had actually turned at the moment of the sound and saw something shoot off the countertop and towards the floor.  We looked all over the floor, all under and around the table...not one single solitary thing anywhere.  Nothing...zip, that could explain the large crashing sound.  John didn't believe as loud as it was, nothing could be laying on the floor broken, so he got up to look and didn't find anything either. It's a mystery.
